The internet is available at all hours of the day, and you are able to buy medicine whenever the situation calls for it. Granted, you have access to drugs 24 hours a day, but the advice that would be nice to have with it may be unavailable. Online pharmacies often do not have a pharmacist on call outside of typical business hours. It is always comforting to know that a particular drug will effectively treat an illness, but you may have to wait until business hours to know for sure.
High street pharmacies provide the support that online pharmacies lack. Within a physical store or hospital, a licensed pharmacist is employed who can answer questions someone has about certain drugs. The issue with online support staffs is that the person on the other end cannot physically see you. Many times it is simpler to converse with someone face-to-face, because the communication gap is smaller.
Online pharmacies are able to stock far more drugs than a stand alone store, sometimes as much as three times more. This helps ensure that the medicine sought is available on the web. If a high street pharmacy is out of stock of a particular drug, another location may stock it, but that can lead to a lot of running around town to buy it.
Much of an online pharmacy’s appeal is derived from convenience; however, they are not able to offer the face-to-face advice from a licensed pharmacist that many enjoy. What a high street pharmacy does not stock, an online pharmacy might, so the patient must weigh shipping fees against using his or her own gasoline and determine which is the route to take.
